Archibald Prize

Australia’s most ancient art award. Named after Jules Francois Archibald (nee John Feltham Archibald) (1856 – 1919). An award that has seen controversy throughout the years. It is an annual portrait prize of $50,000. Artists are required to paint the portrait from life and are requested to provide a statement signed by the subject that they had at least one sitting with the artist.

Winner Announced: 26th March, 12:00 pm 2010.

Entry Fee: $30.00
