BOOKED: travel fund for publishers and literary agents - literature - BOOKED provides travel support for Australian publishers and literary agents to promote Australian literary works and authors overseas and develop international demand for Australian literary works and authors.

Breaking new ground - literature - The purpose of this one-off grant initiative is to create a stimulus to assist in the creation of important new work by established Australian writers and picture book and graphic novel illustrators which breaks new literary ground for the writer and will also have a high expectation of publication or production.

Residencies - literature - Residencies foster excellence in writing by providing individual writers with a supportive environment for professional development, research and creative risk-taking.

Fellowships - literature - Fellowship grants support excellence in Australian literature by providing highly accomplished literary writers with financial support for two years

Writers’ emeritus award - literature - The writers’ emeritus award acknowledges the achievements of eminent literary writers over the age of 65 who have made outstanding and lifelong contributions to Australian literature.

Key organisations - multi-year - literature - Key organisations - multi-year grants are designed to develop a viable strategic infrastructure to support the work and professional development of Australian writers and the general advancement of Australian literature.

Languages other than English (LOTE) publishing initiative - literature - The Languages other than English (LOTE) publishing initative supports the translation and publication of works by authors writing in languages other than English.

Publishing and promotion - literature - Publishing and promotion grants support activities that foster greater awareness and appreciation of Australian creative writing.

Program - literature - Program grants provide one-year funding to a limited number of significant organisations that contribute to a viable strategic infrastructure for Australian literature

Arts Victoria

Arts Development - Categories: 1. Creation - Support for any stage in the creative development of new work. Funding is available from $4,000 to $20,000. 2. Presentation - Support for the initial public presentation of a new Victorian work or innovative reinterpretation of an existing work. Funding is available from $5,000 to $30,000.

Literature and History Program - Grants under this program are intended to assist organisations that promote the development and recognition of literature and history in New South Wales.

Arts SA

South Australia’s Festival awards for literature - Established in 1986, the awards are granted biennially to the best authors in Australian children’s literature, fiction, innovation, non-fiction and poetry. The awards, which judge the best works published in Australia in the previous two years, are the nation’s most comprehensive literary awards.

Arts QLD

Development and Presentation grants - Development and Presentation grants are open to individual artists, collectives and not-for-profit organisations for initiatives including new work, exhibitions, productions, industry development and cultural engagement activities.

Arts WA

Arts Development - The Arts Grants Program aims to facilitate, for the diverse Western Australian community, a vibrant and viable environment for the arts through providing grants to individuals and organisations. More than $4 million in project funds are distributed through the grants program over several funding rounds per year.

Publishing Assistance Program - The Publishing Assistance Program is designed to support living Western Australian writers and other artists by enabling their work to be published, promoted and distributed.

A Few New Words - A grants fund for publications of poetry in chapbook, booklet, magazine-style and electronic formats to assist poets to publish new work that will contribute to the strengthening of literary culture in WA.

ACT Arts Fund - The ACT Arts Fund is one of the main ways the ACT Government provides direct support to the arts. Applications are invited from all artists, groups and organisations for projects or programs of activity in any art form that support, promote, present, develop or provide access to high-quality arts in the ACT.
