Considering A Degree In Creative Writing?

creative writing degree

Do you often wonder to yourself how on earth a poet managed to put all those words together so beautifully and not one out of place? Maybe you’re more interested in prose and you wonder how on earth the author created all those characters, they seem so real, characters you could relate to

Well if you go off to university or college to study creative writing then these are some of the questions your tutors will help you to answer. Your course will help you to analyze poetry and fiction and you’ll learn how sucessful authors put it all together. You’ll probably have the privilage of speaking directly to well known authors and asking them how they put their work together.

You’ll not just be learning, you’ll be doing. You’ll be trying your hand at creating poetry and fiction. But at the end of the day be aware that the majority of your class mates will probably not end up making a living from creative writing, from writing poetry or fiction but you will gain the skills needed to work in fields such as editing, publishing, journalism, and advertising.
